Innovations 2008 is "going green"
Innovations 2008 has committed to reducing its impact on the environment wherever we can. In just about every aspect of conference planning, eco-friendly measures have been taken into account.
Greening Innovations 2008 goes beyond recycling. It involves development of an Innovations environmental policy dedicated to decrease solid waste, reduce energy and water consumption, and minimize or off-set harmful emissions that impact the environment as a result of the conference.
Some eco-friendly measures implemented for Innovations 2008 include:
- Omitting the printing and mailing of a conference brochure providing the details online for download
- Conference agenda will be printed on recycled paper
- Recycling bins will be placed around the conference area to divert cans, cups, glass products and paper
- Remaining show publications and flyers will be recycled at the close of the conference
- Session handouts and CGI collateral will not be printed, but available online for download
- Individual bottles of water will be replaced with reusable water bottles that can be refilled at water coolers
- Conference giveaways are eco-friendly, made with recycled materials and are not packed in individual plastic sleeves or other wasteful packing materials
